BOCHMANN STRING TRIO
present a spectacular programme of works by Beethoven, John Foulds, Schubert and Joplin led
by violinist Michael Bochmann, prised by the Daily Telegraph for his
exquisitely lyrical tone.

Michael Bochmann MBE (violin) was for many years leader of the Bochmann String Quartet and concertmaster of the English String and Symphony Orchestras. He partnered Yehudi Menhuin in Bach’s Double Concerto on an 18 concert tour of the USA and UK and his recording of the “Lark Ascending” by Vaughan Williams is frequently broadcast. In 2015 he was awarded the MBE for services to music and is now director of Orchestra Pro Anima.
David Powell (cello) is sub principal cellist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and has worked with the world’s leading conductors and soloists. He has played with many of the London orchestras and performed at festivals and Midland venues with the Montpelier String Trio, 51 Strings (his harp and cello duo), and Trio Severn.
